Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011 was an absolute blast! We celebrated four  Christmases in less than 24 hours...  let's just say I was a bit tired last night. Christmas Eve was celebrated at my grandma's house with all the cousins, Christmas morning with my parents, Christmas lunch with my Business Man's immediate family, then Christmas evening with my Business Man's extended family. Lots of family, lots of food, lots of fun.  Funny story of the day :  We were opening stockings with my mom & dad. (Yes, we are 23 & 24 and still receive stockings. From both sets of parents. Don't judge.)  My dad was opening his stocking, and Santa had given him a bottle of Monical's Sweet & Tart dressing. Sweet, right? Except it seemed to be leaking everywhere. He opened the lid to check the seal, but the seal didn't look like it had been punctured. However, there was still dressing seeping out the edges. (I bet you can see where this is going.) One of the best sal...

Sometimes I can be an idiot...

Yesterday was definitely a Monday. After a fun weekend with friends, I started my week off on a high note.  School went well. (My students enjoyed tolerated an activity I thought they would hate.) I had a rockin' treadmill run while watching Friends. (7 miles at 8:00 pace, boo ya. First run since the half where I felt like I had my legs back.) And then the senselessness began. First of all, let me tell you a little tidbit about my car. The gas gauge does not really work. It will work effectively until I have less than half a tank of gas left, and then it sweeps from empty to full with no rhyme or reason. So I never really know how much gas I have in my tank. (I bet you can see where this is going.) My solution? Set my trip-o-meter every time I fill up. Typically I can get anywhere from 330 to 350 miles on a tank of gas. Yesterday I was at 308 miles, so I thought I was doing just fine. I was driving home from the gym about 5:00. I needed to be showere...

What Happens in Vegas...

Hi friends. I made it here alive and well. We are off to spend the last day sightseeing with one of my college BFF's and I just wanted to share with you a funny story. Yesterday morning I decided to start my day off with a run before attending a conference with my Business Man. I really wanted to run down the strip, but it's a bit crazy out there and I chickened out. And my Business man didn't really feel comfortable letting me gallivant down the street of crazies all by myself. (Just another reason why he  needs to pick up running.) So, around 6am, I took myself to the hotel gym to get in some quality miles with the treadmill. I jokingly made a comment to my Business Man to come look for me if I wasn't back in an hour and a half. Little did I know. After my lovely 7 miles (that were a little rough due to the altitude) I made my way back upstairs, to floor #12. And then I started to panic. "What room are we staying in!? AHH!" I could not remem...
