And A Visitor Arrives!

Another exciting weekend in the Bean Town, as we had a visitor! My mom came out for her first visit since I moved out here after my Business Man and I got married. We had a full weekend planned, and got right to it when she arrived late Friday afternoon. We took advantage of the gorgeous fall weather and went for a walk when she got here. She desperately needed to stretch her legs after being cooped up in a car for 6+ hours, and I can never turn down a walk through the beautiful leaves. Then, my Business Man got home from work, and we took my mom on a driving tour of the Bean Town. We showed her all our favorite places, and some of the historic sites as well. I might just have to do a "driving tour" for the blog sometime.  After working up an appetite, we grabbed dinner from Beer Barrel Pizza , which is literally 0.2 miles from our apartment. And, it's the best pizza around, in my opinion. We order an "EBA" (everything but anchovies) and a Greek salad to

Football, Fire Safety, and Fall Festivities

This time of year just makes me so happy! I love when the seasons change from summer to fall, and the leaves turn colors, and the air gets crisp. There is nothing better than a beautiful afternoon run during the fall where you get to step on and crunch hundreds of leaves! This past weekend was a busy one for me and my Business Man. I have never seen that in a public school setting. Of course, donations of the food were made by teachers. I was more than happy to provide some Oreo cupcakes. (We also had these at our wedding this summer!)  Sadly, I forgot to snap a pic... but just imagine a fluffy white cake filled with chunks of Oreo cookies. With an Oreo cookie on the bottom. And Oreo-infused frosting. Pardon me, while I wipe the drool off my keyboard. On Saturday, I headed out on an 11.5-mile r

Where oh where did September go?!?

Wow... how the time flies! It has been over 6 weeks since I've last posted! The beginning of the school year has brought a sudden wave of busy-ness to my life... imagine that. Like I said in my last post, I am now an official math teacher for Bean Town Senior High. I teach Geometry and Algebra 2. The first 6 weeks of school have been a whirlwind, as I adjust to the life of a full-time teacher. 40+ hour weeks, plus hours outside school planning?? Crazy! I have also been helping out with the cross country team, which is a lot of fun. The team is small, but the kids have passion for the sport. Plus, it's fun to hang around with runners and have some people to run with once in awhile! There's only about 3 weeks left to the season... hard to believe. I think I will just give a couple snapshots of what's been going on... too much has happened to go into super-details! One weekend, the Fab Four (some of my girlfriends from college) and I met up at my parents'
