To make glaze, whisk together melted butter, cherry juice, and enough powdered sugar to get the glaze consistency that you desire. (More powdered sugar for thicker glaze, less powdered sugar for thinner glaze.)
Cherry Bon-Bon Cookies
Servings/Yield
2 dozen- 24 maraschino cherries, juice reserved
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 1½ cups flour
- pinch salt
- 2 tbsp. half-and-half
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Glaze
- 1 tbsp. melted butter
- 2 tbsp. reserved cherry juice
- 1-2 cups powdered sugar
Method
Preheat oven to 350*F. Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in flour, salt, half-and-half, and vanilla. Shape dough into 24 balls, covering each cherry completely.
